Meet Our Showroom Designers
Tony Garrubba
Interior Design is a process, that begins first with understanding my subjects. For me, listening and communication skills are pivotal in building a solid foundation and trust. I encourage client participation in their project. We all have something valuable to share. Interior design is ever-changing, so I find myself to be a “Design Chameleon.” I am open-minded and adaptable to differing design concepts. And I always look forward to exceeding my client's expectations.

I have a background in creative design and I have worked in the furniture industry from entry level to high end custom design. I concentrate on the function of furniture first and the form second. It’s great if it looks good but is comfortable? When working with me I will have out of the box solutions to your every day problems. You will not only leave the consultation with an exciting plan for your room but you will leave it more educated about furniture and design.

I am a CIDA accredited Interior Designer with a B.S. in Interior Design as well as an ASID member. With 15 plus years of experience in the design field interior design is not just a career...it's my passion. Originally from the Annapolis MD area, I previously worked for a high-end residential design firm and architectural firm. I have worked on projects of all sizes from coast to coast - the Bahamas to Maine, Maryland to the Midwest, and a lot of places in between. I do not have a signature style, rather I strive to create unique interiors that are a collaboration of my client's diverse lifestyles, budgetary guidelines, and project location along with my professional knowledge and guidance. I pride myself on putting my client's needs first and making the design process easy, fun, and rewarding.

From the moment I received my bachelor’s in interior architecture & design, I have not looked back! I am inspired every day and enjoy sharing that with my clients. I have a unique perspective on design, as I also have an extensive background in appraising real estate. I grew up in my father’s business, which focused in appraising residential real estate. I obtained my appraiser license in PA as a result of this exposure. I use my wealth of knowledge to guide my clients to the design that will be functional, beautiful and provide value to their home. Between designing with Today’s Home and working as an adjunct professor with Mercyhurst University in their Interior Architecture & Design department, I am kept busy doing what I love most: design! I value working closely with my clients and strive to help them turn their house into a home.
Sandy Closson
As an NCIDQ Certified & LEED Accredited Interior Designer, I have spent most of my career in the commercial and high-end residential side of the industry. Interior design is my passion and finding the perfect solution to a client's needs is the fuel to my flame. Since joining Today's Home, I have been nurtured by the customer relationships that have developed while applying the breadth of our product offerings on a case by case basis.
Meet Our Specialists
Mitchell Blasingame
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and an Art Director Associate degree from The Creative Circus Advertising School in Atlanta, GA. After working in the advertising industry for several years on clients such as TJ Maxx, Citizens Bank and Serta Mattresses I changed courses. After completing an Interior Design program at The Interior Design Institute in San Franciso, I worked for e-design interior design companies Laurel and Wolf and SwatchPop! before landing at Today's Home. I have always loved all things design. I have worked on the Today's Home sales floor, designed and managed residential projects, and assisted designers enrolled in our TH Trade program. I started working in windows while working in TH Trade and now have taken it on full-time.

Coming from a background with decades of extensive kitchen, bath, and interior design experience in the Pittsburgh area, I now work in a more specialized design capacity as the Rug Manager for the Oriental Rug Company located at Today’s Home. Rugs are unique, no two are ever the same and there is time, dedication, and a story behind each one. My process with a client shopping for rugs is to find out the room that it will be used in, what kind of traffic, lighting conditions and any other coordinating flooring or rugs that will be around it. Understanding the client’s lifestyle and what needs a rug has to have, I want to give them suggestions of rugs that will give them the best value for the investment they are making. I work with the interior designer to understand the palette and floor plan of the room to find the best option. Rugs set the stage and the platform for every room. No good interior design is ever complete without one!

I am Kait, the Director of TH Trade Design. I am a Pittsburgh native and have lived in the Steel City my entire life! I have a BA in Interior Design and graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2011 and I have worked at TH Trade Design since April 2012. I enjoy helping independent designers create dream spaces for their clients and making the process of buying furniture as fun, and streamlined as possible, taking the stress out of the buying process. When I am not working, I am spending time with my family and 2 dogs, Reagan and Cane, thinking of ways to re-organize my home, or watching Black and Gold sports. Go Steelers!
Peyton Koehler
I graduated from Chatham University with my Bachelor's in Interior Architecture, and ever since I have utilized my design education to the fullest. I have had the privilege to work with an independent theatre company here in Pittsburgh and in New Orleans that jumpstarted my passion for Set Design, Project management, and Construction. As the Trade Associate for TH Trade Design, my main roles include organizing and maintaining our Resource Library, assisting with designer meetings/Installations, and managing our social media and email marketing. I excel at 3D modeling, color selection, and space planning, but above all I strive to be an excellent support system for our Trade Designers. Outside of work I still assist on set design projects along the East Coast, am an avid reader, and enjoy spending time with my family.
